If you like catching Spanish Mackerel, you would have had a great time fishin’ the past few days! The winds have still been pretty bad, so nobody has braved the offshore.
Thursday buddies Scott Makemson, Todd Hooper, and Greg Cofelt set out on Tantrum for a full day of fishing aboard Tantrum with Captain Manuel and Mate Edgar. They fished up past Playa Migrino and reeled in 4 Spanish Mackerel.
On the Marlin Queen we had 6 friends, John Martillo, Mark Litwin, Dennis Crump, Steve Hicks, Max Reising and Steve Martinez with Captain Danny and Mate Chito. They caught 4 Spanish Mackerel and released a Pompano.
Friday morning, Ron and Sandi Kier in from Mile Valley, CA went out on Tantrum for a full day. They too had plenty of luck with the Mackerel, reeling in 5.
Adam Lenhart, Johnathan Schuler, Adam Bressdan, Mark Hoffman and Theresa Steford took off on RumRUnnin with Captain Javier for a full day. These guys looked like they were ready to have a good time when they left the office this morning. They reeled in 6 Spanish Mackerel. They enjoyed their day.
Ty Miller, a good friend of RedRum, brought in some hunting buddies to fish with us, Danny Webb, Steve Powelson and Randy and Barbara Hancock. These guys had not had much luck hunting, so they thought they might give fishing a try. They did not do too bad, they caught 2 Spanish Mackerel. They told me Barbara reeled them both in and they did not feel much different about the fishing than they did about the hunting! They said both were pretty slow. We would have to agree with that one!
Mark Noonan and Colleen Snobl along with Dominic Noonan and Amanda McKinnon came in fired up about their day on the water. They were to be fishing with Alex and Jesus 2 on El Nuevo. They too got the Spanish Mackerel to the boat, 3 of them to be precise.
Last but not least we had 7 guys in from Orange County CA in for a yearly retreat (must be nice!) for Arbitech. Andrew Stewart, Ian Shively, Shane Tucker, Francisco LLaca, Dave Williams and cousins Jim and Kevin Whalen headed out on Fearless for a full day with Captain Benito. It was pretty cold here in Cabo and with them used to the Orange County Sunshine, the sea breeze was pretty frigid. They ended up catching the same as all the other boats, Spanish Mackerel. We sure do hope they will visit again during their next yearly retreat!
Until Next Time,
Tiffany
