It has been a slow weekend around here, for the fish and for us. Here is how the weekend went down.
We had bros Erwin and Michael Effler and college buddies, Brad Barefoot, Kyle Wilson, Phil Poll, Mark Watercutter, Brian Buckman and Creighton Call out for what might be the crews “last hoorah” fishing with us for two consecutive days on RedRum with Captain Omar and Mate Americo and on El Nuevo with Cappy Alex and Mate Jesus. The first day, both boats had a Striped Marlin catch and release and together about 15 Sierra. Day two, RedRum boasted 2 Yellowtail, 15 Sierra and 4 Skipjack. El Nuevo came back in with 2 Yellowfin Tuna. These guys had an awesome time and we hope they can do it again with us!
Father and son team, Brian and Brandon Westlake along with pal Vick Sohodosky took off for a 1/2 day of fishin’ on Tantrum with Manuel and Edgar. They had a good day, with Brandon catching his first saltwater fish, a Skipjack, and all together catching a total of 15 Sierra. Brandon enjoyed his first sea fishing experience, so we are sure we will see him, dad and friend back real soon.
Mike Sargent decided to go it alone, sans wife and daughter, on ReelRum with Ramon and Juan for a full day. He fished by San Jaime (Jimmy Banks) by Los Arcos, reeling in 9 Sierra. We are sure he will be back around to fish with us, hopefully bringing with him wife and daughter!
Bill Hall and buddy, who have fished with us in the past had a few days of fishing with us here on the Marlin Queen with Danny and Chito. These guys were looking for the Marlin. Unfortunately, they had zero luck getting a Marlin to eat both days on the water. Monday they tried again, had one on the line but lost him in the end, that is what we call “catch and RELEASE”.
Until Next Time,
Tiffany
