Well, we ended this week on a sour note with hurricane Marie nipping at our coastline and making swells unbearable and eventually shutting down the Port Sunday afternoon. Our fleet made it’s way back when they got the call a little after 11AM that we needed to come back to Port. Everyone arrived safely and most with fish in tow!
Veteran Anglers Mark Goodrow and clan were down to fish with us on a couple of boats for several days this week. They fished aboard RumRunnin and Tantrum and had the best day aboard RumRunnin with the Jesus’s their first day out, Monday, landing 2 Striped Marlin and a Sailfish. Nice ones too. Check out the photos they sent in! They had a great time and picked up a nice sized Wahoo, some Dorado and Bonita during the rest of their trip. The Tode’s had a nice day picking up some Yellowfin Tuna – 6 to be exact on their 1/2 day trip on Tuesday. TCU buds of Ryan, Bill and Marilyn King fished for 2 days with us, caught 5 Dorado day one and some more Dorado, a Bonita and a nice Striped Marlin on the second outing.
The Kelley’s were back for another round with RedRum this year for the week aboard our Panga boat with Captain Carlos and El Nuevo with Captain Alex and Mate Charlie. They caught some nice Roosterfish when they were on the Panga, even one that was trophy worthy! During their 3 days on the larger boat they boated 10 Dorado, 2 Yellowfin Tuna, some Bonita and released a Sailfish and a Striped Marlin.
Nick Sissa and his group fished for 4 days, ended it on Sunday where they just fought to get back to the dock, but over the first 3 days caught some Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, 21 Striped Marlin and a Sailfish. That is some good fishin’!
Harold Ruckpaul and crew were down for a 5 day fishing package and stay accommodations with us. Had plenty of luck catching Dorado – they took quite a bit of meat home, but not so much with the Billfish. Maybe not this time, but next time they will get ’em! They let us know it was not for lack of trying on Captain Omar and mate Oscar’s part, these boy’s did all they could, they told us. We are happy to hear they did their best!!
Let’s hope Miss Marie gets outta here fast, so we can keep on fishing!!
