Hola Everybody! I hope everyone has had an excellent week out there. It was a little slow around here this week by way of charters, not a lot of folks fishing out of the Cabo Marina. We still had a few boats going out everyday, but not near as many as normal. Things will start to pick up next week though and until the end of January. Charters was not the only slow thing this week….. the fishing has not been white hot either. The only good thing is that the Yellowfin Tuna are back! If you are willing to take the boat ride out on the Pacific, you have high chances of catching multiple Yellowfin.
Jerry Wisenhut fished for his last day aboard Tantrum and had some luck with the Yellowfin, it was a nice way to end his trip! All the boats that went out for the Yellowfin boated some and Steven Tatton and his crew who fished on 19’s Toy and caught a whopping 26 Yellowfin. Sachimi time!!
The Dorado have tapered off a bit this week, with most boats targeting them coming back with 1 or 2. Richard Mairet and his crew picked up the most at one time this week, boating 7 aboard ReelRum with Cappy Ramon.
We did have some Striped Marlin caught this week. Veteran RedRum angler Dr. Bart Carey along with pal Craig Spencer fished on RedRum for 3 days targeting Striped Marlin, they caught 2 the fist day, 3 the second and 3 the third. For this time of year, that is a GREAT haul! Congrats guys.
We had our first nice big Sea Bass with the Traughbers aboard on of our Partner boats this year, they also caught a nice Striped Marlin.
On the inshore, we are still catching Spanish Mackerel and they should remain throughout the “winter” season.
We did have some boats come back empty-handed this week along with one of our long time RedRum anglers, MArk DeKruyf. We hate it for them as do our guys, hopefully next time, they will have a boat FULL of fish!!
It is January folks, the weather is super nice in Cabo and what is better that a day on the water fishing??
Thank you for reading!
