Fishing has been really great here lately, everybody is coming back with plenty of fish to eat and to take home. If you are looking to book your trip to Cabo, now is the time!
We had David Hughes out for his 3rd and final day aboard Redrum with Americo and Chito. He had some sort of bribe going with the crew about each Dorado he could pull in. Apparently they take kindly to bribes as he was able to reel in 14 nice Dorados. They fit nicely in his over-size cooler along with his Yellowfin from earlier in the week.
Rick Jabcobson was out for a second time aboard Nuevo with Captain Alex and Manuel. He decided to go it alone this time, which proved to be a good thing as he reeled in 10 Dorado, 4 of which he kept and a Striped Marlin weighing in around 140lbs that he released. He’ll be back again before he leave this trip, we will keep you posted!
Scott and Eric Iwashita along with buddy Lenny Kono set off on the panga Killer. They had a lot of fun out there reeling in about 5 Bonito and a Dorado. They also said they chased around some Marlin for a little while, but no luck.
A tall drink-o-water, Travis Knight came in with April Cowgill for a day aboard ReelRum. Juan and Rene showed them how it is done around these parts finding the Yellowfin Tuna. They caught 6, with Travis catching the largest that weighed around 45lbs. Travis also opted to go out again on Monday aboard the Panga, Piojo with Captain Carlos. He had a good day, catching
The other lone rangers we had on the water Monday was Bill Ervin and his crew, Bernard Scott Sr (“TUG BOAT”), his son Bernard Scott Jr, Reid Cohen, Jim Ervin and Vito Manganado. They had a great day of fun and apparently a lot of team work as they ALL caught and released a 120 lb Striped Marlin and caught 15 Dorado in all. They were fishing on the Pacific side out passed the lighthouse. They will be back at it again on Wednesday.
