Things have remained relatively the same around Cabo this week. Temperatures still really nice, with water temps about the same, however, they did drop a little this week which almost made our Dorado bite non – existent. We only had one boat catch ONE Dorado this week, our buddy Joe Torolski on El Nuevo, along with 8 white Bonita. Kieran Sanchez and his buddy fishing on Thursday caught a Wahoo on their way back from the Golden Gate after releasing 2 Striped Marlin.
Most of the action was all about the Striped Marlin bite. Most boats were heading out to the Golden Gate area catching anywhere from 1-4 Striped Marlin. We had some stand out Marlin Catches this week on ReelRum, Raymond Olsen and crew caught 5 Striped Marlin and released 4, one died in the fight. The Siegfried pair caught and released 8, yes, that is correct, EIGHT, on board RumRunnin with the Jesus’s on Sunday. Not too shabby as far as the Stripe bite goes.
We had Ian Montgomery and his group go out with Captain Omar on Sunday. We contributed a fishing trip to Paws & Claws, a great charity organization for animals in our area. Ian won the trip in a silent auction and had a good day on the boat, releasing 2 Striped Marlin.
Now, the inshore bite was pretty good with Spanish Mackerel still in abundance, Roosterfish, not so, but our buddy Jim Phelps did catch 5 on Friday and some nice Yellowtail were also boated.
Well, that is about all to report this week friends!!
