Well, I am not sure we have ever had a worst weekend around here, well not since I have been here THAT long, in the passed year and a half, this must be the worst I have seen. Since the water temp dropped about 11 degrees in a matter of days, this has affected the fishing. Friday, two of the six boats that went out got blanked. Saturday 3 of FOUR boats got blanked and on Sunday, one of 3. Lets just talk about the boats that caught fish, shall we? And PRAY that this does not last long!!!
Cliff Pardo and fam headed out on RedRum Friday. These guys had white hot luck. Adam caught his first ever Striped Marlin that weighed around 200 lbs. Cliff also caught a Marlin, but not quite as large as Adam’s.
Robert Burke and crew headed out on ReelRum for the day. They did pretty good, releasing a Striped Marlin.
Marin Belvaremma and Sylvia Torres along with Lynda and Donald Snyder fished abord El Nuevo RedRum. They caught 5 Bonito and a Dorado.
Now, Saturday was just awful! Word has it that only two Marlin were caught on all the boats that were out of the marina that day.
We had one boat that went out 1/2 day with Chris Prentice and son Gavin. They fished aboard RedRum with Captain Omar. They had a nice catch, an 88lb Mako Shark. Check Gavin out int the picture, it was his first!
Sunday was not as bad, with Craig Mathewson and his Canadian crew fished aboard EL Nuevo for the day and caught 2 Striped Marlin.
Troy Moore who just got married here in Cabo fished aboard Big Papi with buddies, Brandon Strawn, Joe Flores, and Father in law, Joe, they caught 2 Striped Marlin. Of course Joe’s was the biggest, Troy had to let his Father In Law have the most bragging rights! But they had a great day. Congrats Troy!!
Unfortunately, seasoned anglers, the Boles, who fished on on Friday as well and caught one Dorado ended up blanked for the first time ever. 🙁 They weren;t mad at me though, they understand that is fishing and said the crew still worked really hard. We hate it for them too and all the anglers who were not able to get on any fish. Hopefully this will turn around soon and my reports will be alot more happy!!
