Cabo Fish Report May 1-7, 2018

Fishing in Cabo San Lucas this past week has begun to pick up! With most of our boats still targeting yellowfin tuna and dorado, we are starting to see more of a striped marlin bite as well.

Most of our tuna are in the 15-35 lb range, with our dorado around 10-20 lb.

We are finding our Yellowfin anywhere from 15 – 30 miles offshore, as of last week we have found them chasing bait with porpoise around the San Jaime bank. Then, over on the Sea Of Cortez side, we are having striped Marlin chasing bait at the 1150. Our Striper bite isn’t consistent but with water temperature holding in the mid 70’s we are expecting to see the bite stay more consistent in the coming week.

It is incredible for this time of year to see our water temps higher and still seeing plenty of bait to keep the fish biting! Our Wahoo fishing is slow, but will pick up when warmer waters come through.

Our half day boats have had good inshore fishing with Snapper, Spanish- Mackerel, Bonita, and the occasional Yellow Tail. But most boats are still going off shore to chase tuna down, or try and get in on the striper bite.

Come find us at RedRumCabo.com or give us a call at (760)481-7667, we are excited to have you down fishing in Cabo!
