Cabo Fishing Report – August 12th – 22nd, 2018

Fishing in Cabo is well on its way to a great season!! Our waters are sitting at an ideal temperature between 80 – 85 degrees. We have a lot of species in our waters currently!
Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Stripe Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, and Rooster Fish.

The Blue Marlin bite has been great! We are finding the fish anywhere from 10-20 miles off shore mostly into the Sea Of Cortez. The Pacific is holder warm water as well but not in the high 80’s yet like the Sea Of Cortez. The Blue Marlin is ranging anywhere from 150-400 lbs but we are starting to see bigger numbers coming into our waters! Black Marlin are still on the Slower side but are starting to make more appearances in bigger sizes.

The Stripe Marlin Bite has been steady and consistent!! They a great sport fish to catch and release, they are loving all of the bait in the water and the mid to high 80 water temps. They are in both the Pacific and Sea Of Cortez, they are ranging in size from about 80 lbs – 200 lbs!

Our Wahoo bite has been on the slow side here, with one or two a week being caught a week. Dorado has been going off though, which is great for the past month! We are seeing bigger sized fish ranging from 15-45 pounds. They are a great fish to keep and cook up for dinner!
YellowFin Tuna has been good this week! They are staying on the bait, and staying majority in the “football” size area, but we have seen bigger ones like the #173 you can see in the photo above.
Inshore fishing has been consistent with Rooster Fish, they like to bite in the early morning or later afternoon! Either casting a popper, or live trolling a bait!
