Cabo San Lucas Fish Report – Feb 10 – 16
Well, finally the February winds are upon us! Been pretty windy this week, there were a couple of days during the end of the week where we saw a break.
The Striped marlin bite picked back up this week with our boats mostly fishing out by the Golden Gate, or between there and San Jamie. We had some boats catching Marlin around the 1150 spot earlier in the week, then that turned around on Wednesday when we discovered that spot was no longer hot! The Yellowfin Tuna bite has been pretty much non-existent this week after owners Ryan and John went out end of last week looking and got skunked out there. They were really hoping for a nice Tuna dinner too. Oh well! Plenty of Striped Marlin out there for those anglers that are looking to mark that one off your bucket list.
The Blakes fished on Tantrum for 2 days and day one had an awesome day releasing 4 Striped marlin and boating 1 Yellowfin, they thought this was a sign and decided to go out 40 miles searching for some Wednesday and they had no luck. Joshua Carr was looking forward to landed his bucket list catch and left bright and early Monday morning with the Jesus’s. He was super excited to have actually been able to release 4, all by himself! Most of our boats were successful in landing at least one Striped Marlin, provided they were on a full day charter. The 1/2 day boats just were not able to make it into the action.
Julie Green and Gary Hutchinson fished on RedRum Wednesday with Captain Omar. They too REALLY wanted a Striped Marlin. Hailing from Alberta, Canada where it was minus 25, coming into Cabo where it was 81 their day of fishing. They were not disappointed in their day, they ended up with the catch of the week, releasing 6 striped Marlin in all!!
There was a few Dorado in the mix this week as well, but not a significant number, just about 1-2 on each boat that found them. Sunday was the best day for Dorado fishing, with our boats catching a total of 36. The “Crazy Canadians” also caught 5 Dorado On Sunday on El Nuevo with Captain Alex and mate Charlie. Aren’t they cRaZy lookin’?
So what are ya’ waiting for??? Get to Cabo San Lucas and enjoy this beautiful February weather!!!
