Cabo San Lucas Fish Report – Feb 24 – March 2
Hi everybody! I hope all you guys are staying warm out there. I know we sure are here 🙂
This week has been pretty much the same, though the Striped Marlin bite was not quite as strong as last week. Most of our boats we are encouraging to go full days, because you really need the time out there to get on the fish and some of our 1/2 day boats came back empty – handed. As did one full day boat, but sometimes that is just fishing….
The weather remained pretty much the same this week with water temperatures hovering right around 71-73. The week was pretty slow going, but Wednesday was a good day with boats catching a variety of species. This was the only day in the week we saw Dorado and Wahoo and only one Wahoo, but he was a big fella! We also had Kelly Bestwick, veteran RedRum angler fish for a couple of days with Captain Omar. They had good luck on Wednesday as well, when they went out for Yellowfin and actually caught some! They caught 20 in all and let 10 of them go.
The Roosterfish have been hot this weekend on the inshore of the Pacific side with boats catching multiples in a lot of cases. The Jesus’s found the school Thursday on a 1/2 day fishing with the Trusewycz family. The guys caught 5 in all and some Spanish Mackerel. I think this is one of the largest ones caught that Jesus is holding….
Couple of other highlights this week were Sean McGurk and Robin Sulz who released 4 Striped Marlin and Brody Hulin and his gang who were in on a Stay & Play package they purchased through their local CCA chapter. They had a great day Saturday releasing 3 Striped Marlin and boating a Mako Shark – they said that was yummy!!
That about does it for this one my friends! Thank you for reading.
