Cabo San Lucas Fish report – Feb 3 – 9
Hola amigos!! First week of February and it is still warm for this time of year. Jacket in the morning, hot, hot, hot during the day. But you can not beat the beauty that is Cabo any time of year!
The Striped marlin bite slowed a little this week, but we were still catching Dorado and some Yellowfin Tuna. We also landed a few Wahoo as well. Jason Johnson and Maureen Smith fished aboard Tantrum on Monday and caught a NICE Wahoo. Check him out!! They also boated 6 Yellowfin Tuna, a Skipjack and a Dorado. They initially had a 1/2 day booked, but with the fishing the way it has been lately, unless they wanted Spanish mackerel on the inshore, they needed those extra few hours to get out where the fish were.
We were catching tons of Spanish Mackerel on the pacific side all the way up to Playa Migriño and in between. The Kozicki family had an awesome time catching about 17 of them and they also boated 2 Dorado.
On Thursday we had Networth Realty fishing out on 5 of our boats. They make this a yearly company trip, nice incentive!! Manesh Hardeo who fished with us last year with this group was back with Captain Alex and had no luck, but the guys out on 19’s Toy showed that the Striped Marlin bite was still on, releasing 3, one for each of them! What a day!
The most Marlin released this week goes to RumRunnin, the Jesus’s, they released 4 Striped Marlin on Saturday. There was also a massive school of Dorado on Saturday as a couple of boats came back with double digit Dorado catches. Well, almost double digit for Robert Morrison and his crew on board El Nuevo, they caught 9 and Steve Thornwell on 19’s Toy boated 12! Great day for those guys.
It is beautiful in Cabo right now, what are you waiting for!!
THanks for reading!
