Cabo San Lucas Fish Report – HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We are winding down 2012 here at RedRum and it sure has been a great year. Lots of fish were caught, plenty of people went home happy and hopefully they will be back in 2013 to do it all over again! I hope everyone has had a great year and wish everyone the best in 2013!

Now back to the fishing….. Dennis Bandack was back at it again today, this time aboard 19’s Toy. He had a good day, releasing a Sailfish and catching 2 Dorado.

Bob and Andrew McCarthy were out on RedRum for a full day, unfortunately sea sickness got the best of them and they were back at the docks early. They still managed to catch a Dorado, which they released.

Jim and Stephanie Wisner, Mark Dean and Joe Haden went out on Tantrum for the day. Mark and Jim both caught and released a Striped Marlin, Jim’s was bigger, but apparently it took him “an hour longer to reel it in”. I think they had a pretty good time, they also caught 10 Dorado.

Brandon Shelton went out for a second time today, he caught his long sought after Striped Marlin which he released and 4 Dorado.

Andy Casareto and his family were on board El Nuevo for the day. They had a great day, catching 12 Dorado and releasing a Striped Marlin.

Vince Smith went out solo with Ramon and Julian on ReelRum. He had a good day, catching 3 nice sized Dorado.

Last but certainly not least we had the Giannitsopoulos family go out on a Panga with Captain Carlos. It was Athanasia’s birthday, so she was ready to catch some fish! And catch they did, they reeled in 4 Sierra, 2 Dorado and her brother reeled in a Roosterfish. What a great birthday for Athanasia!

That is all for this year folks, see you in 2013!!!

  • I think I can speak for the team that fished on Tantrum and say that we had a “great day”. Despite some rough water, hard to argue that 2 stripes and 10 dorado was not a good catch. I will leave it to Mark Dean to explain why my marlin took an hour longer to land than his.

The crew on Tantrum was fantastic. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to fish on a regular basis and I have to say that the Tantrum crew was impressive and worked as a “well oiled team”. I hope to have the opportunity to fish with them again.
