Cabo San Lucas Fish Report – Jan 27 – Feb 2
Really nice weather this week here in Cabo. From my office I can see the slight breeze blowing over the marina and the sun always shining. You can’t beat it! The fishing pretty much remained the same this week though it got a little windy out there some days that made it pretty rough to go too far out for the Tuna. We have been going anywhere from 25 – 35 miles out to find the Yellowfin.
The Striped Marlin bite was still strong this week with many boats releasing one. Mike Boehler and his crew caught and released several this week. Here are a couple of photos of the largest. William McKenna and his crew were back with us again this year fishing on ReelRum with Ramon and Julian. They made out pretty well also releasing 3 Striped Marlin and boating 4 Yellowfin. Jerry Isles and Jeff Lewellyn who took off on Tantrum for the day killed it out there, releasing 2 Striped, one of which was around 200lbs and 5 Yellowfin Tuna.
Dave Hunt and Bill Wright on-board RedRum with Captain Omar caught some nice eating fish, 2 Dorado and 4 Yellowfin Tuna. We also had a nice Mako Shark boated on-board RedRum this week by Timothy Shanks. He was dying for a Marlin, but got a different bucket list catch instead! We had Jeff Bigger and buddy out on RUmRUnnin for a 1/2 day, they just wanted to catch fish. And, so, they did. They fished along the Pacific and caught about 13Spanish Mackerel. Plenty of the Spanish Mackerel out there to be had out there right now.
The Dorado bite is still hanging on as of right now, seems like it should be gone soon especially with the recent drop off in the water temps by a few degrees, I’m guessing it may be only a matter of time!
Thanks for reading everybody!
Until Next Time,
