Cabo San Lucas Fish Report-Jan 7/8
Kirk and Kathy Kiloh were fishing on board Tantrum for a 1/2 day with Juan and Christian this Monday. They came back kind of disappointed with their day and told me that they only caught one… it was a Spearfish. Now, me, having no idea what a Spearfish was could not show excitement for this catch. They had no idea what they had caught either. When Ryan Donovan contacted me to see what the boats were catching, I told him, one boat caught a Spearfish, he said, “a Spearfish??!!”. He told me about how the Spearfish is one of the Billfish in a series that fisherman fish for all their lives to try and catch, apparently the spearfish is the most elusive of all Billfish and is generally caught around Hawaii. So, this was amazing! Too bad we do not have any pictures, but if they are reading this, maybe they will feel better about their day, and me, well, I learn something new everyday around here!
Ryan & Scott Desmond and Steven Cipolla went out on 19’s Toy for a full day with Captain Gava. They had an awesome day catching 2 Dorado and releasing 2 Striped Marlin.
Matt & Laura Bell along with Troy & Rebecca Cummings were on El Nuevo for a full day of fishing. They caught & released 2 Striped Marlin.
Jeff, Brett & Brock Bergman, Neil Walker and Kayla Perkins fished aboard RedRum for a full day on Monday, They released two Striped Marlins, one Dorado and out by the Golden Gate managed to boat a Yellowfin Tuna.
Tuesday, Tom Morden and his crew were off a Carnival Cruise and they fished for a 1/2 day. They caught & released 2 Striped Malrin.
Jack McGeorge, Craig Rafter and Ron Rudnick fished on El Nuevo with Alex and Jesus. They had a great day catching 4 Yellowfin, 5 Dorado a Wahoo and some Skipjack.
Steve Poffenroth decided to go solo aboard Tantrum. He was happy he did so he had the opportunity to catch & release 2 Striped Marlin all by himself!
Bill Lee and Bruce Fontaine joined up for a share aboard ReelRum. They started out going up toward Los Arcos, the water was too rough and then went out toward the Golden Gate, they headed back because the water was too rough and unfortunately did not get into anything. Bruce has joined up with someone else though and will give it another go next Monday.
That is all for now folks, until next time! Thank you for reading.
