Cabo San Lucas Fish Report – June 2 – 8
Good day everybody! It was a pretty steady week this week catching fish. The beginning of June means the beginning of Summer, hotter than ever temps and generally the fishing starts to pick up. We did have some cooler temps around the inshore this week, which was nice for the Griffen fam on board ReelRum who chartered the boat for a 1/2 day trip, they picked up 2 Roosters on the inshore. There was talk of more out there this week, but Monday was the only day the boats could get close enough to catch them due to the bigger waves along the inshore.
Fishing was pretty steady this week as we fished mainly by the 1150 and 95 again, then later on in the week moved out to the Pacific by San Jamie and up to the Golden Gate. We were catching Dorado, Wahoo, Striped Marlin and even found a couple of Yellowfin Tuna this week, which is always a good sign!
We were catching some larger Dorado and Wahoo too, this one was caught on Friday by the Watkins crew on 19’s Toy. They also fished on board El Nuevo and released a Striped Marlin and Bonita. This was enough for dinner for the whole crowd though!! Chris Cordova was one that picked up the first Yellowfin, it was on Thursday aboard ReelRum with Ramon and Julian, he fished last Friday with them and caught 9 Dorado. I have to mention Douglas Brown and his family who fished with us in the past. His son, Neiko, was determined to catch a Marlin this trip, and that he did!! It was a nice one too, around 160. They also boated a Dorado. The fishing was pretty steady this week, with most boats catching one or two fish. We are expecting it to bust wide open soon though!
Thank you for reading!!
