Cabo San Lucas Fish Report – March 10 – 16

Ahoy there mateys! Lot’s of wind around here this week. We ended the week on Sunday with the winds so bad, you needed goggles so the dust did not blind you. The Port even closed for smaller craft on Sunday afternoon. Sunday happened to be the lone day of the month we did not have any boats out, lucky for us and them!

The bite slowed down significantly this week as the winds pushed warmer water in then moved the cooler water closer to shore. The Dorado bite was pretty much non – existent this week, though the Yellowtail bite on the inshore did pick up a bit. The lone boat that caught a Dorado this week were the Shucks on RumRunnin. They lost 2 Mako’s and a Marlin, good thing that Dorado was hungry! We were also catching some Roosterfish, Spanish Mackerel Triggerfish and all the Jacks on the inshore.

Hands down, the best day of the week had to be Monday where almost all of the 8 boats we had go out released at least 1 Striped Marlin. With Ed and Beau Burback slaying them on 19’s Toy, releasing 4 and the Willson’s on one of our partner boats also releasing 4. Gary and Chris Gordon were back down with us after having purchased their home away from home here in Cabo. They were really happy to be down here for the first time back with Captain Juan on Tantrum. They too released a couple of Striped Marlin while they were here. Congrats on your new house guys!

The bite seemed to be pretty good on the inshore as well with ton’s of Spanish Mackerel being caught, along with some Bonita, Triggerfish and a few Yellowtail.

Let’s hope next week the winds get under control and the fishing starts picking up again! No real photos this week, so I will just leave you with an image of one of my favorite sights….THE ARCH
