Cabo San Lucas Fish Report – November 3 – 9

It is the week of the long awaited WON Tuna Tournament here in Cabo San Lucas. And we have a lot of anglers pre-fishing this week, just getting the jump start on those reeling arms.

Randy and Denise Wren were back with us this year along with son Kyle. They killed it out there on RedRum before the tournament. They released 5 Marlin on Monday and kept 4 Dorado, Tuesday caught 6 Yellowfin AND 6 Wahoo. During the tournament, they finally made it to the scales for a Wahoo, but she wasn’t large enough to win the prize. Neil crow and his crew fished before the tournament for three days and caught in all: 4 Blue Marlin, 2 Striped Marlin – all of which were released, 12 Whaoo and 7 Dorado…. whew…. that made me tired just typing that! Great week for our buddy Neil. Friends Kent and Gail Sommer also went out along with Jefe John Donovan. They caught 10 Dorado, 2 Wahoo and also released a Striped Marlin. Our girl Lauren Franco was out with Ramon on Reelrum and got a nice Sailfish and a Dorado.

Micheal Lerro finally caught a break on board Nuevo, he released 2 Striped Marlin, he was SUPER stoked because he had fished 3 other times in Cabo, with other folks, of course 🙂 and got skunked each time. Chris Schamber and his crew finally found some Yellowfin the second day of his trip. Day one he released a Sail and Striper and day 2 pulled in 15 Yellowfin and released another Striped Marlin.

We did catch some Yellowfin Tuna this year in the Tuna Tournament, but none of them quite met the mark to win. Ryan and John Donovan fished with friends out on 19’s Toy and caught several nice Tuna and had an awesome time fishing. Ry TUna TOurney Ryan & John We did have one winning group, Tom Brindley and his crew who fished on Colleen’s Magic. They caught the winning Wahoo at 51 lbs. The purse…..$45,600. They could not have been more pleased! Congrats guys! Tom Brindley and boys Right now the fishing is SOOOOO good, you almost have to not have a hook on the line to not catch one 😉

So, what does that mean??? GET TO CABO AND FISH!!!
