Cabo San Lucas Fish Report- Weekend Round UP

Same ol’ same ol’, fishing spotty, I won’t bore you with the details, we did have some great highlights this weekend though, so let’s get down to it!

Friday was a rough day out on the water, the only good news we had was a 1/2 day boat that left late because it came of the Carnival Cruise ship. Ken Murphy and his crew headed out on Tantrum, where they ventured only 12 miles out by the lighthouse on the Pacific. They caught and released 2 Striped Marlin and a Mako Shark.

Adam and Raj Chandani were out for their last hoo-rah together before Raj has his first baby. Unfortunately, they did not have much luck out there, but we sure do wish him the best of luck in the future with his new addition!

Same went for Matt Bell and wife Jesse out on Nuevo for the day. The water was so rough, Jesse was feelin’ seasick most of the ride. They started on the sea of Cortez hoping to avoid the big swells, then had no luck with the fish and ended their day on the Pacific side. Matt decided to give it another go on Saturday, this time alone. He was out on RedRum this go-round with Omar & Americo. he said it was looking pretty grim all the way up until about noon when he finally caught a nice-size Dorado. It was plenty of fish to take with him and he was excited for his catch, so were we!

The Kristovich clan had an AWESOME day out on the water. Dad Antun and son’s, Antun, Lou and Francesko were out on RumRunnin for a full day with Captain Jesus 3 (Tio Pato) and Juan. They caught 2 Mako Sharks, 2 Dorado and 2 Yellowfin Tuna. Now, that was a lucky day of “catching”!

A super nice foursome, Russ and Peggy Talmadge and Doyle and Melissa Mcowen from Louisiana were out for a second day with us after having lost 2 marlin the first day and catching a Dorado, they were back at it with Captain Alex on El Nuevo. Captain Alex told me people were catching fish all around them, but unfortunately the fish did not want to come near their boat. We sure hope they have better luck next time!

Last but not least we had Bill Hall and Tom Bambury out for two days fishing off the Marlin Queen. They had a great showing over both of the days. Day one they caught 2 Dorado and 3 Yellowfin and today, Sunday, they had the best day I have seen in quite sometime, catching & releasing THREE Striped Marlin and catching 2 more Yellowfin Tuna and a nice 35lb Dorado. Danny and Chito were not playing around this weekend! Great job guys!!
