Fish Report May 15-22, 2018
Check Out This Marlin!
Cabo fishing has been more consistent for the month of May than we have seen in a long time! The Sea Of Cortez is holding water temperatures in the high 70’s to 80 degrees, while the pacific has been more windy and on the choppier, colder side but still holding fish.
Our Striped Marlin were staying between the 1150 bank and the Gordo banks, which are about 20-30 miles off shore into the Sea Of Cortez.
As of three days ago, we found 80 degree water had moved out to the Emon bank as well and we are seeing the Stripers making their way out there to find more bait.
Rooster fish and Jacks have been firing this week, an inshore bite has been consistent while the wind blows off shore. Our Roosters have been sizing between 15-40 lbs and the Jacks being from 15-30 lbs. This is a great option when the bigger fish are in the chop, it can get a bit bumpy!
Cabo San Lucas is starting to warm up, which will hopefully bring more warm waters for us! Our Dorado bite hasn’t been consistent, we are mostly seeing very small Dorado which we always encourage to release. Hopefully with warmer waters will come our Wahoo and bigger bill fish.
