Cabo Fly Fishing in April

Cabo fly fishing has captivated the world with its beautiful scenery, beaches and incredible deep-sea fishing. From the sagebrush covered mountains that rise from the sea, to the tan colored beaches and the blue water, this region is one of the most stunning places on Earth.

April is a great month to come and fish for Striped Marlin, Dorado, and other species. The weather heats up, humidity decreases and there is little to no rain at all making it a great time to go fishing.

Trolling: Generally, a typical pattern consists of a few artificial lures trolled on the outriggers a couple of boat-lengths back. Some anglers still troll live bait, but the artificial lure is more common here for targeting larger Blue and Black Marlin.

Roosterfish: The Roosterfish that cruise around the waters of Cabo are some of the most exciting inshore game fish anywhere. Their comb-like dorsal fin slicing above the water and chasing your fly or popper is truly a sight to behold.

Catching a Roosterfish on the fly is a challenging and very difficult pursuit. It’s also a lot of fun and it can be an unforgettable experience, but you have to be prepared for some tough times.

Fly Flies: You will want to bring a large selection of flies in sizes and colors that match the bait the roosterfish are feeding on. Clousers, crease flies and mullet patterns are all excellent choices.
