In the exciting, constantly evolving world of sport fishing, sustainability is more than just a buzzword; it’s a commitment to preserving marine resources for our future generations. At RedRum Sportfishing, we take this commitment seriously. We are not only dedicated to providing our guests with an unforgettable fishing experience in Los Cabos, but we also prioritize sustainable practices that respect and conserve the marine environment.

Reducing Single-use Plastic

Our first step towards creating a more sustainable fishing experience is reducing our usage of single-use plastic. Plastic pollution is a significant threat to our oceans, harming marine wildlife and ecosystems. To combat this issue, we’ve made a simple and impactful change. Instead of providing our guests with single-use plastic water bottles, we give each of our guests a branded, reusable aluminum water bottle. This seemingly small action can make a big difference. By making this switch over a year ago, we have significantly reduced the amount of plastic waste generated on our fishing trips.

Catch and Release

Our commitment to sustainability extends to how we handle the fish we catch. We practice catch-and-release fishing for all billfish species. Catch and release, when done correctly, significantly increases the survival rate of fish and helps to maintain healthy fish populations. This practice ensures that the thrill of sportfishing in Los Cabos can be enjoyed by generations to come.

Partnerships with Like-minded Companies

Collaboration is crucial when it comes to environmental conservation. That’s why we’ve sought out partnerships with companies such as Gray Taxidermy, that share our vision for a sustainable future. By partnering with these companies, we can amplify our impact and work together towards our common goal of protecting and preserving our oceans.

Responsible Fish Utilization

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, a fish doesn’t make it. When we do keep a fish, we ensure that it is used to its full extent, reducing waste and honoring the life of the fish. Our guests bring the fish to different restaurants to eat, they bring them back home or they give the fish to the boat crew for their family to enjoy.

At RedRum Sportfishing, we’re proud to be a part of the movement towards more sustainable fishing practices in Los Cabos. We believe that by taking these steps, we can provide a thrilling and enjoyable fishing experience for our guests while also playing our part in preserving the marine environment.

Through our efforts, we hope to inspire other companies and individuals to join us in making sportfishing more sustainable. After all, a healthy ocean means a brighter future for us all and the continuation of the sport we love so much.

Join us on a fishing adventure in Los Cabos, and be part of our commitment to sustainability. Together, we can make a difference.
